iMethods and 2bPrecise Collaborate to Drive Precision Medicine Adoption

September 3, 2019

Partnership will advance precision medicine utilization and streamline workflow/resource management

JACKSONVILLE, FL and PITTSBURGH, PA– Sept. 3, 2019 – iMethods and 2bPrecise have entered into a partnership agreement to support their clients’ adoption of precision medicine. The relationship will leverage iMethods’ expertise in healthcare IT implementations to accelerate the deployment of the 2bPrecise genetic/genomic data solution in hospitals and health systems nationwide.

The 2bPrecise independent informatics platform enables providers to store both genetic and genomic test results as discrete data so they can be integrated and utilized within the clinical workflow to improve patient outcomes. The partnership with 2bPrecise is a direct reflection of iMethods’ ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery through the adoption and optimization of innovative technologies.

“It’s always exciting to be on the leading edge of the transformation of an industry, and precision medicine will be a key driver of healthcare’s next major shift,” said Clint Drawdy, co-founder and COO of iMethods. “At the same time, we recognize that a change of this magnitude can present challenges. We look forward to consulting with our client partners about how best to introduce precision medicine across their organizations, as well as offering 2bPrecise clients a proven resource for managing new workflows and associated staffing needs.”

The precision medicine market is growing at an astonishing rate. Currently, there are 75,000 genetic testson the market, with 10 new tests approved each day. Clinical areas of greatest anticipated growth include cancer, prenatal testing, cardiology, neurology and other heritable diseases. Various research reports note that the global next-generation sequencing (NGS) market is expected to grow to about $20 billion by 2025.

“Genetic and genomic testing clearly represents a new standard of care,” noted Assaf Halevy, founder and CEO of 2bPrecise. “Likewise, the growth of testing represents a new data set that healthcare organizations will need to integrate and make available to multiple users, now and into the future. Our objective is to help providers establish a strategy that enables them to get started in precision medicine, and then scale and expand according to their organizational priorities. I am confident our partnership with iMethods will facilitate greater success for our clients.”

About 2bPrecise

The cloud-based 2bPrecise platform consumes genomic/genetic data from molecular labs and clinical information from the client’s preferred EHR, combining them into a comprehensive patient record. The solution provides insights from multiple curated, evidence-based knowledgebases and injects the data back into the provider’s native workflow. 2bPrecise, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allscripts, creates a discrete information layer that follows the patient as he or she moves into various clinical settings, so the entire care team can access valuable insights – preventing information from being isolated in a single care encounter or specialty area, while enabling providers to arrive at accurate diagnoses sooner and deliver therapeutic value faster.
