iMethods is currently seeking a Junior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer for a healthcare client in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time position and will require candidates live in OR relocate to the Jacksonville area. The Junior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer is an operational support position providing network, server, storage, application system surveillance, performing single fault management, and configuration tasks in support of our clients technology 24/7/365 Network Operations Center. In addition to the tool sets itself, the Junior NOC Engineer works well with customers and other stakeholders. The Junior NOC Engineer easily adapts to change and remains stable in stressful situations, assists with monitoring tool design and implementations of tool sets for network routing/switching, and recovery procedures. Maintains technical relationships and evaluates market technologies associated with monitoring tool vendors; and may be assigned design and implementation responsibilities for systems of basic complexity and minimal criticality. The team delivers an extraordinary client experience through quality engineering and unsurpassed customer service. Responsibilities will include:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure and maintain all network monitoring and notifications
  • Reporting and trending capabilities
  • Initiate, update, track and close trouble tickets
  • Conduct network studies, performance analysis, and recommend changes
  • Ability to troubleshoot all escalated tickets, and effective at isolation and triage 
  • Working Knowledge of the 7 layer OSI model, and ITIL framework
  • Ability to perform some network hardware maintenance tasks, UPS replacements; hardware upgrades, cabling, basic configuration, port activations, basic network troubleshooting
  • Has the ability to correlate reoccurring issues and the ability to make simple network, server, storage configuration changes
  • Provides accurate and concise up to date system information of problem escalation
  • Perform scheduled proactive network testing to ensure the network is functional and reliable
  • Independently troubleshoot LAN/WAN networking problems at all layers
  • Act as an escalation point to internal departments
  • Follow and adhere to established guidelines and best practices
  • Monitor and maintain network and associated software, including responding to tickets
  • Identify, categorize and respond to network problems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • 1-3 years of networking experience – routers, switches, IPS, ACS, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec, HSRP, and SNMP protocols
  • Knowledge of VLANs, IP subnets, routing, switching, access lists, and traffic shaping
  • CCNA Certification is desired
  • Good understanding of ITIL policy framework, technical environment, management structures and procedures for service delivery
  • To be successful in this position, the candidate must also display excellent teamwork skills, written and oral communication skills, and formal documentation skills.

Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and oral & written communication skills and strong troubleshooting skills required.
